$EARTH — Token Design https://tyler.art/portfolio/earth-token-design/ Thu, 24 Feb 2022 19:03:00 +0000 https://tyler.art/?post_type=portfolio&p=3190 The $EARTH token design was commissioned by Unbounded Earth, a metaverse project in the Cardano ecosystem. It serves as the media for their governance token and includes the animated 3D model in the asset, as well as still image renderings.

    The Design

For this commission, the Unbounded Earth team reached out to me with the idea of creating an animated token. We ultimately went with a gyroscope design, a play on their name.

This design naturally broke the coins faces into 4 separate sections. We took advantage of this by incorporating creative and useful elements into the design, notably the two Policy IDs, one used to verify the projects metaverse assets, and the other to authenticate the coin itself.

This collection consists of 125 still image frames, 2 animations and 35 personalized "Into This World - Sneak Peek" NFTs. The 125 stills are each a unique frame of the full animation, revealing the opening to the (2140) story.

    Commemorative Cards

The 35 commemorative cards were given to close friends and supporters who I showed the collection to before its release. Each has the persons name on it and is numbered.

    "Into This World"

This collection is the first in my [2140] series following R.O.D.R.160.

The series is broken up into framed sets within chapters (this one is Chapter 1, Framed Set 1 — Ch1FS1). Each piece in the collection is a still-image frame, and combined they create the full animation.

To me, this collection is a flag in the sand. [2140] is one of my long term goals as a creator.

    Meet R.T.A.

    Released: July 29, 2021

The first R.T.A. piece, created for the opening Artano auction.

This NFT was created as an Artano INFT (Infinite NFT) set to loop through 109 still frames, changing every 24 hours. The loop was started at the purchase of the token. . Every ≈36 days, the logo displayed will change, rotating between the Artano logo, the Cardano logo and the withspaces logo. There is one transition day between each logo change where the logos are glitched together.

    R.T.A. — Drop 2

    Released: December 10, 2021

The second R.T.A. series, released at the launch of Artist profiles on Artano.

Each piece was minted as a single edition and follows the progression of platform from my perspective. The collection features other collections/artists such as Smitty Studio and Monad Alexander.

R.T.A. Remembering is worth noting. Its specifically opened to the Unsigned Algorithms page of 31 Weeks as the collection was initially intended to be released on Artano. The piece is priced at the number of Unsigs.

    R.T.A. Exploring

    Released: March 03, 2022

RTA Exploring is my second full series R.T.A. series. It was released shortly after Artano released its edition feature for artists. The collection is a mix between editions and 1/1s, as the nine pieces were all only minted once.

R.T.A. Exploring #9 (along with a 109) was displayed at a small art show in Mystic, CT, late 2022.

As of writing this, two have yet to find a home, #9 which I may hang onto, and R.T.A. Exploring #5.

    R.T.A. FOMOing

    Released: March 20, 2022

Released as one of the first auctions on the Artano, and one of the earliest smart-contract auctions on Cardano. This NFT includes an additional graphic showing progress renderings (for R.T.A.’s display).

Roxbury Creative Center https://tyler.art/portfolio/roxbury-creative-center/ Tue, 10 Dec 2019 16:24:00 +0000 https://tyler.art/?post_type=portfolio&p=4307 This semester-long project aimed to conceptualize and design a recreational center for the Roxbury, MA community. Collaborating closely under Professor Armando Plata, the project unfolded in two distinct phases.

The post Roxbury Creative Center appeared first on withspaces.

    ]]>

    Phase One

As the Artifacts evolved, a central theme began to emerge—namely, the idea of unveiling intricacies and fostering connections within the recreational center. This theme laid the groundwork for a broader vision.

Expanding upon this concept, I made a pivotal decision to center the recreational center around the theme of “Art & Creation.” This choice encapsulated the very essence of the complexities and connections I sought to expose. The complexities, in this context, represented the diverse range of creative disciplines that the center would accommodate. The connections, on the other hand, symbolized the collaborative spirit that would be nurtured among these disciplines.

    Phase Two

To manifest this vision, the final design took shape, featuring six distinct buildings or “shops.” These structures were thoughtfully designed to serve as focal points within the facility, strategically placed to encourage social interaction and collaboration among visitors.

What truly sets this design apart is the innovative integration of a glass-clad space-frame connecting these six buildings. This elegant architectural feature extends outward to form a stunning art gallery at the rear of the facility.

The geometry of this space-frame, a defining element of the design, was meticulously crafted using Blender. A fluid simulation technique was employed, mimicking the graceful flow of liquid through the shops and ultimately into the gallery space. Symbolically, this design concept captures the essence of collaboration—just as the fluid carries with it the work generated in the shops to the gallery, the collaborative efforts of the various creative disciplines flow seamlessly into a shared space.

In summary, this semester-long project evolved from a creative exploration of abstract art pieces to a comprehensive design for a recreational center, emphasizing the importance of artistic expression and collaboration at its core. The final result is a harmonious blend of architectural innovation and artistic vision, providing a space that celebrates both the complexities of diverse creative disciplines and the connections that unite them.
